Leebo’s legacy: Our story

“Our beloved son, Leebo Beckett, passed away from Sickle Cell Anemia 2 1/2 years ago at the age of 23. He was vibrant and full of life, always determined to overcome any obstacle. Losing him unexpectedly was the hardest thing we’ve ever faced. To honor his memory and continue his legacy, we created Leebo's Sickle Cell Support Group. Our mission is to support, advocate for, and provide resources to families and individuals affected by Sickle Cell Disease. Through this nonprofit, we aim to carry forward Leebo’s spirit by offering the compassion and support that every person facing this illness deserves”.

HER STORY

“My first crisis occurred around my first birthday. By age 10, I had endured numerous surgeries, including gallbladder removal and mediport placements. Despite frequent hospitalizations, I pursued my dreams, and strived for a normal life. At 18, I faced severe complications, leading to a medically induced coma and multiple joint replacements. Through my family’s support and my faith, I have persevered.”
